LED Dash light conversion

Post by divace73 »

Hi All

I recall once a thread that had a LED dash conversion list but I cannot find it in the search. Would someone out there have a link to the thread?
Cheers David

This is one of the best every day simple changes you can make to the car. I truly enjoy driving at night between the LED instrument panel lit up like a Christmas tree and the bright headlights from the headlight relay.

The LED 194 bulbs sure are a lot cheaper on Amazon than on the specialty websites. Like, 10x cheaper.

Are they just as good?? I tried many years ago from a local supplier Jaycar (similar to radioshack) and they were horrible.

I haven't tried them, but I will. There are some with excellent ratings/reviews, but even those have some people claiming that, for example, out of 20 received, nine were no good. One wonders if some of those reviews are the result of people not orienting the bulbs correctly.

They're so cheap that they're worth a try.

Hi,

I've used cheap bulbs (poor connection) and good bulbs, and just don't care for the LEDs: The white's too blue (tried red as well) or too bright, or too narrow coverage.

I've gone back to new "Edison" bulbs, and the warm glow looks just right in my "period modded" '78.

Ciao,
Mark
