Best Way Temporarily Disable Computronix Ign?

I am trying to do a compression test this afternoon to determine initial conditions before I rip the top end apart and install HP head, cams, etc.

What is the best way to temporarily disable the Computronix ignition (block mounted in my engine) so as to not cause any damage or safety problem?

Just disconnect the connector at the unit?

I disconnect the battery and unplug my computronix at the unit itself.... but now you've got me worried that I've damaged it.

With the key off, disconnect the harness at the coil
