Yes, that's correct. Mine has those raised flanges that are preventing contact. My second link above (the one that works) shows a wheel without them. There are clearly differences in steering wheels, so looks like I need to eventually get one like in my working link above. I see that AR sells "adaptor hubs" , but they don't say what they're for. Wonder if they'll fix my situation? Csaba?

Yes, the turn signal cancelling mechanism changed in mid-1972, that is why we sell two differnet hubs.

They fit the steering wheels we sell, or any steering wheel with the Momo pattern, like the Spider 2000 (1979-85) steering wheel.

OK, I learned something new about the horn contacts a few days ago. Both of the contacts do NOT touch the brass ring on the steering wheel. One contact touches it, and the other contact is set closer to the steering shaft and is supposed to provide ground for the steering wheel itself.

Yes, Unfortunately, my original steering wheel does not support that configuration so I've got a horn that doesn't work until I get a compatible steering wheel. Due to budgetary realities, I've relegated that purchase to Stage 2. Stage 1 is too simply get this thing moving under its own power.

when i got my 78 the horn didnt work
about a year later i dug into it. it seems someone had the dash off and pinched the wire for it
so at the colum when i pushed the horn i get the ground thru the purple wire
and at the relay nothing.so i put in a jumper wire from the relay to before the plug
at the colum. it has worked fine since

hope this helps.joe
