Should there be an open ended fuel overflow hose dropping down from the filler tube area? Looking up from the floor directly underneath the gas cap area, I removed the protector plate covering the fuel hose to the tank. Looking up, I was surprised to see a quarter to a half inch open ended hose dropping down from the gas cap area. If correct, what is the purpose of this? If incorrect, where should it be routed?

Re: Fuel filler tube
see the beige line on the left, it is your overflow line and should run straight down. (I am no expert but I did stay in a Holiday Inn once)

Re: Fuel filler tube
The purpose is to drain rainwater that flows across the body panels into that space.
