Exhaust manifold to downpipe stud size 79

Post by Rambo »

I pulled my head yesterday for rebuild and all 4 of my exhaust studs to downpipe broke. They probably weren't removed since the car was built as they were completely rusted shut. I need to know what size studs these are so i can have them replaced at a machine shop.

I used M8-1.25x35 studs for the manifold to downpipe when I upgraded to a 4-2-1 manifold. Use of heat and penetrating fluid can - on occasion - free up seized studs for extraction. I use Time-Sert inserts where a stud has seized and requires machining out for extraction.

Good luck!
