Vancouver Island

Post by Stevelivingfree »

Just got a new to me '72. 1608. Thanks for the add. Lots to be done on her this winter.

Most wheel bolts stripped, valves and top end minimum. Body is good, interior not too bad.

Waiting for the rain to stop. :D

Hi Steve,

Where are you? I am in Victoria and have a 78 parts car that is going to the crusher soon. Let me know if you need anything.

Cheers,

Jordan

North Island. Out in the bush in the Sayward Valley. This car will spend most of her days between Telegraph Cove and Campbell River. Running the scenic highway. Only just started looking at her but she came with a parts car too. Haynes manual and new distributor cap arrived today. Got to start somewhere. She came with only one functiopning wheel nut in each wheel. I now have at least 3 holding on each and torque @ 50lbs. Think next job will to be replace bolts with wheel studs. Rain has finally stopped. Will go for a good run this weekend. :D

Welcome, Steve! Glad to have another Islander on the Forum. Passed through Sayward yesterday on my way from Alder Bay to Courtenay. Not in my Fiat though, as I'm a bit gun shy about a long drive with no cell coverage...
