Hi All,

I recently bought a '76 spider as my new toy/hobby. High mileage, but almost no rust. It's my first spider, but I've had two X1/9s in the distant past.

I've already found lots of helpful stuff in the forums that's helped me get all this done so far:
  • Convert to electronic ignition (the condenser went while I was driving the car home)
  • Install 3-point belts and rear belts
  • Fix fried radiator fan relay
  • Fix leaky cam cover
  • And so on...
And that's just the first month.

I got LOTS of spare parts with the car. Some I'll list in the for sale section, some straight to the scrap yard. If you need anything let me know and I'll try to sort through all the boxes I inherited.

Looking forward to learning lots more, asking questions and maybe even answering some!

Welcome aboard! There are lots of us in Ottawa and help is readily available. I suggest you investigate the Italian Car Club of Ottawa, to hook up with like-minded people. Our season-closing event is Oct 2.

Tom,
Welcome. I'm in Ottawa as well. I've seen a few other Spiders in Ottawa that I haven't seen before. Always wonder who the owners are.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes. I didn't know there were so many Fiat owners in Ottawa!

I appreciate the invitations. I'll have to see if I can make it, will depend on the hockey schedules.

And, the fun never stops. Had it out for the first time tonight with the whole family. Stopped at Canadian Tire; then it wouldn't turn the starter. Half way home, it stopped idling properly! So, this weekend will be another under the hood!

As a matter of fact, I do... I have no idea it's internal condition. It's in a gear now and the shafts turn easily by hand...
