new member: Ottawa canada, 1980 Fiat Spider

Hello, just joined up. Don't know why i didn't find this long ago.
I have a 1980 Fiat Spider, which i get almost new in 1982.
It has been on the road almost all that time.
I've recently moved from Ontario to Quebec and so need to do some repairs for the required mechanical inspection.

My current challenge is to find:
- replacement bumper ends
- a windshield - mine has a had a crack for a long while but it is not acceptable for inspection

Having your Spider that long and being local, I assume that you are already a member of "ICCO".

I will check with my "guy" for the bumper ends you are looking for. I know he does not have any windshields.
I also know 4uall has some parts and he is regularly on this forum. He might have some bumper ends.

Carrying it is one thing, knowing how to properly install it is another.

That's why i always bring a printout of instructions for them (like alignment, timing etc etc). Or just get the part and diy

I checked and Apple Auto glass can replace the windshield with new.

I am looking into the various suggestions for getting parts now. Thank y'all.

Thanks to several people and tips found here i am back on the road! Car has now passed quebec mechanical and plates are on.

Hey i was looking at a couple of parts i will need, and figuring the best plan.

1) rubber door guides, triangular, both sides, located below door latch - autoricambi has them, website says 'service not allowed' for shipping. if they can be found in canada would be easier.

2) replacement rocker panels. i have found several source in USA, and this one in QC - http://alfaparts.net/fiatspider.html. My understanding is they vary in quality and fit. Any recommendations/thoughts?
