1983 SpiderEuropa

Post by Olympian »

Hi everyone, I'm the proud owner of a 1983 SpiderEuropa. I'm based in Switzerland. So far as classics are concerned, I've had dalliances with a Jaguar XJS and a string of more modern Alfas, but this is my first real Italian classic. I (and my kids!) are enjoying every minute with it at the moment, but I'm sure the time will come sooner or later when we'll need to draw on the expertise in this forum!
Cheers :D

Thanks everyone for the comments! :D

I took it for a post-purchase inspection by my local garage, which just happens to specialise in restoration and servicing of Ferraris and Maseratis, so there's always plenty to look at! The team were amazed that there is no rust anywhere on my Spider, and confirmed that it's in excellent health.

I asked them to look at a few things which resulted in the front brake lines, front wheel bearings and steering arm bushes being replaced, plus a few bits and pieces around the exhaust being generally tightened up to prevent some vibrations. There's a split in the passenger seat covering that I'll get them to sort out at the end of summer, but otherwise they said it's as damn near perfect and original as a 34 year old Italian car can be!

It runs (even more) beautifully now, and I'm trying to sneak in a few cheeky drives during the long weekday evenings after work! 8)
