I bought the car a couple a months ago, I noticed when we were loading it on the trailer a lot of coolant was leaking, put bars leak in it hasnt leaked that bad since then but it still dose and seems that its coming from the raditor somewhere. It seems to do fine on short drives, I guess my question is should I replace the raditor and all the hoses, water pump, etc ? or do I start some where else? FYI it has been running at 190 or a little past and got little close to the red last time out.

Cooling Issues???
Re: Cooling Issues???
unless the cooling system looks to be in bad shape, I'd pressure test it and find exactly where the leak(s) are. Radiators can be repaired up to the point they are too rotted to solder. If the car has been sitting a long while, replacing hoses and water pump is almost mandatory. Adding stop leak is only a temporary solution and should never be considered a permanent repair
Re: Cooling Issues???
I dont think it sat long the guy that had before me drove pretty often, I think.

Re: Cooling Issues???
i had my original 1980 radiator patched twice in the 14 years i owned it, before i gave up and replaced it. in the end, it was past time to do so.
you can only stuff so much wax into the cheese. might be time to get a professional opinion as Mark suggests. get the system pressure tested to find ALL the leaks.
of course, rubber hoses should be replaced first.
