Fuel Injection Revamp

Post by JamesCarGuy »

Hello. I am new to the site and thought I would come here for some help with the fuel injection in my 1981 spider. I am in the process of installing some new fuel injectors to replace the tired old ones. However, I want to put in some upgraded injectors instead of the OEM ones. My regular source of parts is VickAuto and I wanted to order a set from them here is the link:

http://www.vickauto.com/newstore/index. ... ts_id=3727

Unfortunately they have been sold out for about a year and I need an alternative. I am asking for advice for where I can find the same injectors VickAuto offers elsewhere or if anyone has had a good experience with aftermarket injector upgrades, I am looking for a "plug and play" model. I also need help finding a new fuel rail. Everywhere I look they have no listing. I am also grateful to find new parts sources so if you have some to share that would be awesome.

Thank you very much for the help!

Hello and welcome.

I think I have a fuel rail but I won’t be able to check until Sunday. PM me if you’re interested and I’ll email you some pictures.

There was a recent post about bosche injectors and their parts numbers. If you use the search feature and keyword bosche I would think you’ll find it.

Welcome James,

There are a number of good suppliers that people tend to use quite a bit. Certainly worth checking them all out for injectors and other items.

When I'm looking for parts I typically hit these 3, plus Vick's.

If this is a K-Jetronic system, you can get Bosch replacement injectors from Pelican parts - late 70's Porsche 911's used the same system. Part no. 911-110-225-01-M14 - $47.25 each.

Our Spiders use an L-Jetronic (AFC) Bosch system.
