X1/9 & Strada AC

Post by pintopower »

Hey folks, I have not had much luck posting elsewhere so I thought I would try this here. I am installing factory AC on my 1981 FI Strada. I have the complete AC system off at a company in Florida getting modernized and they have asked what compressor they use. When I look it up, I get a few conflicting options. I was hoping someone had some info and would also be able to provide images that I could send over to the guys in FL to see what compressor options they had. I would like some compressor shots, the area where it is located and as much of the bracket as you have access too, a tall order considering the engine bay of the X. Thanks in advance!

There are a few threads on XWeb about rebuilding an AC system on the X which would be directly beneficial to you. Using a more modern compressor which is smaller than ones used back in the day would benefit your install.

Midwest Bayless has compressor mounts from an X which would fit the Strada 1500 which you might have a look at.

Hope that helps some.
