1982 124 Spider 2000: Floor Pans

Post by Mastasmash »

Hello,
I have been looking around and was hoping someone could help out by giving me a recommendation. Something I have noticed is that the floor pans for this car either come as 2 or 4 pieces, I have looked on mrfiat, classic2current fab, and even a few other locations and was hoping someone could tell me whether or not to bite the bullet and pay more for the 2 piece or save some $ and go with the 4 piece. I don't mind doing the extra work to save money, I am just wondering if anyone had anything to say about the differences, things I should look out for when installing them and such. I have never done floor pan work and my friend that is helping me has only restored VW bugs and a Duster.

The 2 Part I would easily be spending close to $650 versus the 4 piece being roughly $300 after shipping costs are added.

Thank You.

I'm in the same situation, and went for the 4 piece which cost $395 including shipping from Eolf Steel in Quebec. Not welder in a long time but ready give it a whirl.

I saw Wolf Steel, I just don't want to make a mistake and order the wrong thing. I think I'll go ahead and do the extra work and order the four piece because that seems to be the thing most people would do.

Thank You.

Yes wolf steel. They had to make them as they did not have them in stock. It has taken around ten days for them to have ready to ship.

I ordered the 4 piece floor pans from Classic2Current Fabrication in Detroit. They came in in less than a week and are all in good shape. The total order cost me $289.00. Overall I am pleased with the quality of the cuts they made, here's to me learning how to weld before I take a crack at this.

Cheers!
