85.5 Pininfarina

Hi any suggestions. I use my spider very rarely. I took out recently and noticed when I put brake pedal on I get a muted clanking noise. I have checked discs no prob and fluid level etc all okay any suggestions. I should mention the brakes are working fine. Many thanks Terry. :?

The spring clips that hold the pads in may be missing or broken, probably hearing the pads slide a bit against their various stops when you are applying the brakes?

Can you tell where (what tire) the noise seems to be coming from. If it is the rear you may not see/feel a big difference in the braking. If you can isolate the wheel it is better to pull the tire and inspect the disc, calipers, pads and hoses. With older cars it may be as simple as a clip as RR123 suggested. However, best to isolate the noise if you can as braking issues can become a bigger issue in a hurry.

Thanks guys for input. Sadly I can not think that's the problem though I will check out clips. The weird thing is the noise seems to be coming from the engine bay! It's not deafening in fact a mechanic suggested putting the hi fi up!
I am going to try and source a rolling road bay and see if that can help. Cheers Terry.
