Hi all - just looking for some input on replacing the rear window frames as seen in the following link;
http://www.vickauto.com/newstore/index. ... ts_id=4144
The assemblies on both my car and a spare convertible top I picked up are in rough shape. The overall frame is solid, but the window frames / attachment points are rusted out and fused together. I'm having a hard time figuring out how the original window frame could be removed and a new frame installed to the convertible top. Is there welding involved? Or a bit of hardware that I'm not seeing because of rust?
Thanks for your help!

Re: Rear Window Frame Replacement
I did a similar repair to mine. I don't have any photos. Once the repair pieces were welded in I wire brushed the frame as good as I could and then applied POR 15 to the frame. I did this in 2005 many miles ago and the top has seen a lot of rainy days. No issues so far.I rebuild mine with steel square tubing and it involved welding
