Hello from Boise! Any Idaho 124 Spider owners here?
I'm really excited to be here! I purchased my 1978 Spider 1800 in 1985 and drove it until it was smashed in about 1990. I loved that car, and thought I'd never see it again. My buddy's dad picked up a Spider 1800 for parts but ended up restoring it about a decade ago. When he passed, it was sold to a friend of the family in the Seattle area. In the meantime, we discovered that the restored car was my old car. Same VIN! To shorten a long story... On labor day, I flew to Seattle and bought back my old car, and I'm really excited to have her back after 27 years.
It now has a different motor, out of a '73, apparently. And it has lots of new, ahem, 'nuances' that come with a 40-year old Italian roadster. So I expect I'll be on this forum a lot with questions.
One additional data point: On a warm summer night, pulling a Fiat 124 into the garage apparently takes about 45 minutes and a quarter-tank of gas. #spontaneous joyrides

Sorry for the delay....! That's a beautiful 124!
I don't know of any fiat-specific car clubs in the area, but there may be a roadster rally here or there. I think there's vintage Porsche club that's fairly active. And there's these guys: www.swiscc.org.
