What is your maximum RPM that you reach?

Speed calculator says one of the old race motors spun around 14K when it threw a rod out of the block on a bad shift of 5th down to 2nd.

I've had mine to 7000 many times. Of course the last time was over 200000 miles ago. I limit it to a about 5500 these days.

The redline is limited by valve float and your flywheel. A factory weighted flywheel should be very safe around 7,000. I had mine lightened and my new limit is around 7,250 (Less the the limit of a factory one). The double coil valve springs keep the engine in a generous safe zone so just listen in carefully for any “special” sounds.
