Fuel Line Sourcing Issues
Hello there. I have an 81 Fiat 2000 FI Spider and I am currently rebuilding the engine. My metal fuel lines are rusted and causing leaks. I have checked around for suppliers of this line and cannot find it. Can you get it pre-bent or at least on a roll? No one seems to have the right size. I have also heard that people have just run rubber fuel hose in its place, and am curious if this could be a last resort option. Thanks.

I'm with Orford. I would not be comfortable with rubber fuel line running through the passenger compartment. I purchased a 25' roll of steel brake line for about $10. That was enough to do both lines even after kinking one and having to re do it. I used a cheap brake line bender and pre bent them on the floor before installing them. I put a flare on each end to aid in clamping.

I got long straight sections of stainless from a welding supply many years ago. PITA to deal with but was thin wall unlike the aluminum and will not have any issues ever. Worth the effort in my opinion.

Re: Fuel Line Sourcing Issues
Rather than normal brakeline, rubber fuel hose or braided line, consider Cunifer brake line.
Cunifer is a copper nickel alloy used for brake line on higher end cars and will not rust and is easy to work with. It is perfect for fuel systems. I would use a 5/16” line for the supply and 1/4” for the return.
It is easy to work and is now available at most auto parts stores such as Advance Auto etc.

Ah okay! Funnily enough I believe I have some Cunifer line left over from the brakes. Thanks for the tips.
