Engine suffocate at 2500 rpm when hot

Post by tomlebatisseur »

For a 2000 injection of 1980 manual

Other problems. again. Yesterday I went for a walk, and she has redone a problem that I already had.

Hot, in a rise (when we need power). not always but sometimes she suffocate, around 2500tours, i push the gas, and she does not more, the engine die, for lack of something ...
if i retrograde, the engine come again to life because we are higher in the rpm. (but not always)

Also, I know how to reproduce the trouble.
I demande power (slight slope) and I put a higher speed 2 -> 3, the engine falls about 2500 rpm, I put gas and she burst but with explosions ..

But yesterday nothing to do in my little slope. and if I insist, she makes explosions.

I had the problem on a little hill, and also at the start in a roundabout.

I had had a little hill after withour problems .... it's very ennoying

If you have an idea.
In the past, I have cleaned the Air Flow Controler. he is sliding well now.

Thanks.

Sorry for my english...
Vincent.

I suspect the rubber hoses that connect the air fuel meter to the intake plenum has a crack and when the engine moves to the side as you apply gas using the pedal, it opens the cracks in the rubber hoses.

I would look very carefully at the large rubber hose running from the AFM to the throttle plate housing. If there are cracks then you have large amounts of unmetered air that the AFM is not seeing so no additional fuel is being injected to match that air. Thus no power from the engine.
