Hi all, I'm new to the forum but have already found lot's of great stuff. I'm the new owner of a '77 Spider, and am working on getting it running. I'm in the process of doing a basic rebuild of the carb (32 ADFA) and am having trouble knowing where to put the rectangular gaskets that came with the kit.
The ones I'm having trouble with are the three rectangular gaskets, one with an oval hole and two with round holes. My carb has a spacer between the body and the base, and another spacer between the base and the manifold. Do I sandwich the body/base spacer with the two round holed gaskets, and then put the oval gasket between the bottom spacer and the manifold?

Re: 32 ADFA carb rebuild
You guessed correctly. The 2 rectangular gaskets with the 2 holes go on either side of the spacer between the throttle body and the main body of the carb. Look carefully at that spacer and you will see the old ones on either side of it and obviously the old ones need to be carefully peeled from the spacer without damaging it as you will be re-using it. The other gasket with the oval hole goes between the spacer at the base of the carb and the manifold.
FYI...For the spacer between the carb and the manifold I usually use 2 new gaskets, 1 between the spacer and the carb and 1 between the spacer and the manifold but as the kit only has one of those gaskets I would use it between the spacer on the bottom of the carb and the manifold.
