Please Help! Need paint code...

Hello guys, I'm in dire straights here and could use some help finding out the paint code for my car. Its in the body shop as we speak for a complete respray but the painter isn't 100% sure on the code he found on the car. What I have is a 1984 Pininfarina Spider and its that azzuro blu color and I've exhausted all internet searches on a clear answer as to what the code is. The original sticker on the underside of the trunk lid has a sticker on it and if memory serves me correctly it said azzuro met and the number was something along the lines of 8xx... Unfortunately the tag was a bit tatered and wasn't 100% readable and we need to get a number to order the paint. All work is on hold until I can get a number and he isn't going to be responcible if its incorrect if he orders it so I'm begging for someone to come to my rescue and hopefully can provide me with the paint code ASAP.

Dont know the 85 paint code, but the 1981 Azzurro Met. (light blue metallic) is 474/F

Ferrari's Azzurro Met. is 505/C

A firend just did his 83, and the code he used was also 474/F azzuro met. Can't ever be sure from year to year, but yours is likely the same. Good luck.

Thanks very much to all who have replied and given their input... I'm pulling my hair out because there are SO many different options and nothing is just cut and dry or clear cut. The tag says Azzuro Met which has one number but the number that is almost impossible to make out is something totally different. So now I'm not sure whether to go by the name which is clearly visible or try to match it up by some of numbers and links provided by some of the members I've been in contact with through this thread and private messages? What's a boy to do... Man I going crazy because I really don't want to make a mistake and then regret painting it the wrong color, not to mention my paint guy is being quite the **** about this and not willing to help or do any work to get the correct color... Thanks again and if anyone else has any insite it is much appreciated!

The paint supply shop here that serves all the body shops and painters can't find a code if all they have is a name. His suggestion was to take the VIN to a "dealer". Well that's not going to work, but is there a channel we can use to go to Fiat or Pininfarina? Or a database of their information? The name Azzuro Met might have been used several times to describe several different shades.

I found your code for the azzurro blue it is F1 462. As it turns out that is the original color of my '78. Please let me know how your paint job looks, mine is going in for paint this month and I am still looking for the color. I want to say near the original but maybe add some metalic to the paint.

Hey, quick question... can someone post a picture of the paint ID tag in the trunk, or a description of where it is located. I have looked in my car and don't see one, and would like to cross check with the engine bay number.

Underside of trunk lid, upper right. They are frequently removed or painted over.

Mine is NOT the color indicated on the label, they masked around the label when the car was painted at some point over 20 years ago, presumably so that the original color could be identified. (link doesn't work)
