New Spark Plugs

I am up for some new spark plugs and was considering the new Bosch +2's, the local stores (Advance, Auto-zone) said they don't fit but IAP is selling them. This is a job that I want to do this weekend otherwise I would order them. Does anyone know the model number that would be for our cars? - Thanks!

I'd save my money and buy NGKs.

I used the NGK's BP6ES and they went right in, I pulled them after about 100 miles to run a compression check and they looked fine. Don't forget the silver anti-seize!

I've been using the NGK BPR6ES and they've been great. I pulled them after I'd put 10,000 miles on them and they looked so good I put them back in and have the replacement set on a shelf in the garage.

Ditto on the BPR6ES. They've been fine for me and they were dirt cheap.

I run the NGK's. I'm not sure about the +2's, but Bosch platinum's are some of the worst plugs out there. Working in parts stores & now @ a dealership I've seen many bad ones. While they last longer without eroding, I've heard that platinum plugs actually foul easier that standard plugs. Most of the hot rod guys stay away from them.

my experience has been that if the platinum plugs get gas-fouled you might as well throw them away. Even cleaning them with a sandblaster won't get them firing properly again. The only advantage to platinum is longer life since they don't erode.

Thanks everyone! My newly aquired spider has the 40 IDF's and it was recommended that I get a better set of plugs than the spare set I had around for my 81 FI. I appreciate all of you help in making my decision pretty easy! Thanks again!

With a carbed car I would definitely use the NGKs.
