Hello everyone,

I just joined, my older son just bought a 1981 Spider, he is doing all the wrenching, I am just his sounding board. Now I can read through threads he sends me links too :-) Back in the 70s I owned an 850 Coupe and an 850 Spider, more recently I had owned an 1967 AR Duetto for almost 20 years, that car I think is responsible for giving my son the "bug".

A big thank you to the Owner(s) and the Mods and volunteers for an awesome site.

Welcome, Vince! Thanks for your story, and I can relate in that my dad bought a '69 124 spider and then let me wrench on it while he watched. I still have this car today, and in fact I took it out yesterday for a drive. Still a ball of fun even at 52 years old (the car, not me).

Hi Vince,
Sarasota is my home town. I have great memories of my dad and I working on several older cars together when I was younger, which got me started on my love/hate relationship with old metal. My daughter is smarter and only likes to drive them. Welcome to the forum.

P.S. Almost 20 years ago I bought a 1984 AR Spider on eBay. Although we liked the car it needed lots of work and my wife and I realized that what we really wanted was a 1967 Duetto so we sold it and started looking for a nice Boat Tail. However we decided that we really needed a back seat that would accommodate our daughter so we ended up with a 1992 Ferrari Mondial t. Funny how the Alfa is now worth more than the Mondial.
