Hello all, I'm the new owner of a 1978 124 Spider, I'm in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I love these forums for the way we can help and be helped. I used to have a '69 VW type 3 (sqaureback) and was a member of thesamba.com.
Back to the Fiat! Currently I'm collecting manuals and need to fix some heavy jerking in low gear acceleration....I'm guessing timing. I've got a new set of filters, plugs, cables, and an EI module (and points). Any thoughts on that would be appreciated, but I'll look through the forum too. I have located a digital copy of the 1978 brochure let me know if you want the file or how I can share it on here.
Anybody else in Ottawa? It would be nice to have local tips on repair shops, parts, etc...

Welcome aboard. I'm in Perth and there are a number of us in Ottawa. My car is also a '78, but there are no Italian specialist shops in Ottawa any more. Parts are readily available from AutoRicambi and others, in the U.S. If you need help with something, post it here or on the Facebook group - someone will help.

Thank you for reaching out Peter! Good to know I wasn't going crazy I could have sworn we had a few shops on Preston Street (our little Italy), but had no luck tracking anyone down....Good thing I don't mind getting my hands dirty.

As Peter says, there are a number of Ottawa area members here, though we've been rather quiet lately...
I'm in Kanata and have a '76. I've done a fair bit of work on it, using some of the area shops for the more difficult stuff, but none could be considered Fiat specialists.

One member and my informant is Domenic Amendola, not sure if he is here!
