2000 block and 1800 head timing belt size

Post by TX82FIAT »

Folks, I can't find my notes from the last timing belt change back in 2017. I have an 1800 head on a 2L block and vaguely recall using the 1800 timing belt with 146 teeth. However, I don't want to get to work and realize I have a faulty memory from five years ago and order another belt to return one. I suppose I could take it all apart, order new belt and wait for new belt to come in before I install. I hate waiting on parts to complete work. I have some time as the car only has about 15,000 miles since last belt change, but I like to do it every five years to be safe. Thoughts?

It's the block size (height) that determines the length of the timing belt. Since the 2L block is about 1/2" taller than the 1800, the 2L block with an 1800 head would use a 2L timing belt, which has 148 teeth.
