Hello,
After looking at various engine compartment photos on the site I am questioning to position of the coolant T on my 80 2000 FI.
Currently my temp sensor is pointing upward (never looked right to me). The pictures I see have it pointing downward. I could swap the sensor with the brass plug but having looked at the T disconnected from the hoses I guess the real question is which direction should the restricted end (smaller ID) of the T be pointing. Currently the restricted end is connected to the hose leading to the thermostat. If that is not correct my guess would be that the T is installed upside down on my car and needs to be flipped around 180 degrees. Let me know!
Thanks in advance.

Re: Coolant T position
The only reason it normally points down is so that the brass plug will be pointing up. The plug is meant as a bleeder outlet for the coolant. However, no one I've heard of uses it. As a matter of fact, a lot of people have had trouble stripping it when trying to remove it. The hose connections on the T are the same size, so restriction is not an issue.

if you have a tee with a restricted port, that has to point towards the t-stat

Okay good that is the way it is pointing currently. Thanks!
