1438 cc valve problems

Post by WarbirdAL »

I have a 1969 1438 cc engine with so far bad valves in the #1 cylinder. I was going to have a valve job done but so far I cant locate any replacement valves for this engine. They all say no longer available... if it comes to it are there any other cylinder heads that would match the 1438 block? any thoughts... thanks

I've got some used valves, may have new also. Do you need both intake and exhaust? how many?

thanks Mark, I knew someone out there could help me! I havent taken the head off yet, but I am getting 0 compression on the #1 cylinder and 80 on # 2 90 on #3 and 4. Once I get the head off and take a look at it I will get back to you. I really appreciate this. I was wondering if this engine would have to be swapped out for a different one. I want to keep this car as original as I can. It is a 69 124 Coupe.

Australia? hmm that's just off the coast of California isnt it? sigh... I was just in Sydney last November. worked for the Australian Army for a few months. Nice people but I could never understand what they were saying :D
Just in case I cant find something over here, what would you want for the head and any idea on the cost of shipping? I can oinly imagine it would be more than my car is worth at the moment.
