I was just putting on new points and converting to single point ignition when I decided to remove the plate and check my advance springs. I guess I should say spring, because one was missing completely and the one that was there didn't look too good. Where can I get replacement springs?
Thanks,
Robert
centrifugal advance springs
Re: centrifugal advance springs
I also need advance springs and cannot locate them at any of the Fiat suppliers. I don't think anyone offers them as a replacement part.
I'm going to check the speed shop near my house that offers distributor rebuilding and recurving. They should have a lead on them, I hope. I'll let you know what I find.

Re: centrifugal advance springs
Yep, put them on yesterday along with a new Crane XR700. I don't have an advance timing light but I can tell that it does not advance nearly as quickly as before when I up the rpms. I think I now know what happened to my old spring, too. The PO had replaced the points screws on one set of points with screws that were too long which probably broke the spring. I don't have to worry about that anymore because i have NO MORE POINTS! Yay me!
