New member swede.
I decided that it was time to sell the dirt bike/other fun stuff and do other things now when I’m getting older (too many injuries according to my wife ), what could be better than a small convertible spider.
I was looking around to find a car for a reasonable price but ended up with a complete wreck, former owners had done so many modifications so it took me the first winter just to get it running properly.
Now 2,5 years later I can finally enjoy using it despite its not ready yet but 2 more years and it will be perfect (I hope).

Welcome to the forum Swede. If that car was a complete wreck, you've done amazingly! Very pretty.
Your and my situation are very similar. I road Goldwings for 30 years (never had a spill, thank God) but as I approached 60 my wife informed me it was time to get off the bike. So I got my Spider after having let my first one go 26 years earlier.
I am enjoying the Spider much more than the bike. You'll find a great group of people here, good to have you onboard.

Welcome Swede, What year is your car? 75-78? I see that you have the chrome bumpers from an earlier car.
Also where are you located?

Re: New member swede.
Thank you all for the warm welcome.
What would I do without these wonderful Fiat sites, this is where I gather all information and parts so my spider restoration can continue forward.
I know that pope think it looks perfect but there is lots of small stuff that doesn’t show in the picture and everything has to be done before I can be satisfied.
This winter 2008 will start with changing out motor and gearbox to an older European one with 118Hp just to get little bit more power, put on my 15" MIM rims and fix the last part of the electrical.
When I first bout the car the motor didn’t run at all and the electrical was a big joke, I probably took out at least 200-250 foot of cable that the former owner had put in for no good reason other than stupidity (he had no clue what to do).
The plan for winter 2009 is to take the whole thing apart and build from bottom and up so I need help choosing color, it was originally orange but somewhere along the line it got painted red.
Now when I’m going to take it all apart a can use whatever color I want, I want a color that looks great and also sticking out a little bit so I’m open to all suggestions.

Hey Swede! Good to see you on board. Now for color. We've talked about the bright orange, but you might want to consider a bright yellow or lime green. All three will look good with black interior and they are eye catching! Of course, you could stick with the same ole red everyone else has.

Ted,
Too bad Ted I’m off to US on Sunday morning and it would have been fun to see you here, I’m a traveler too working for a small company http://www.detach.se
this time I’m visiting Rahway NJ, Seattle WA and San Francisco CA.
So what Swedish company are you working for?
IKEA, ABB, Ericsson, Getinge, Volvo, Saab?
Maybe I will see you somewhere in the near future, who knows.
