We are in a brief interlude...waiting for more snow. Went to my cottage after Christmas and there was over 2 to 3' on the ground. Thanks to my neighbor for keeping the driveway clear. But had to shovel all that show to get to the front door and had over 4 to 5' blown on the side door.
Only saving grace is I installed a thermostat at the cottage that I can control from my phone, so when I get there it is nice and toasty.

Jim DeShon, what part of the high desert are you in? I'm in Lancaster, are we neighbors?

Hi Ron:

Yup, we are sort of neighbors, maybe 50 miles of desert between us. I am in Hesperia. I've been here about 31 years, long before this was actually a town. Now it is "big city" in my book. Everything has grown up around our little 1-1/4 acres in the middle of town. Now that I have retired, our plan is to stay here though, as long as we can still afford to. 8) ...J.D.

Great J.D.! I hope you're planning on joining us for the run coming up in Feb. You're actually closer than I am to it. Instead of going down the 14 to the 5, I could head over to the 15 and hook up with you for the ride down.

Sorry...Not going to happen :( .My spider has been in pieces for some time. That is the project for the summer, getting the Spider on the road to recovery. I finally have the time to spend on such things. Right now it is 2 feet in the air on stands with the drive train in pieces. I have spent the last few days cleaning up the shop so I can get to work on the car soon. I was doing some work on it last summer until we had a death in the family. I put a new top on it and started making plans to rebuild the chassis (brakes and suspension). I will probably order the brake parts this month. The chassis work that needs to be done will be simple. Enjoy the run in February. :) ...J.D.

Well, we'll just have to keep you motivated so that you can join us later in the year.
We look forward to meeting you in person.
