Calling all southern and western members

Post by kristoj »

Okay,

Now is the time of the year when all of the members in warm climates make fun of those of us who live in the Great White North. So go ahead, get it out of your system. I'm ready. Ron?

We have gotten quite a bit of snow and ice over the last 24 hours. This video was pretty much me leaving work yesterday: video.

That was funny.

You should see all the effort I put into putting the top down to drive home after work. It's chilly in the mornings, you know, around 60, so I usually have the top up. Then after work I have to spend like 15 or 20 seconds putting it down before I drive home. Brutal.

Happy winter!

I'll race you. I'll scrape the snow off my car while you giggle your ignition key and we'll see who drives off first:)

Ouch! Though I'm pretty sure I'd rather jiggle in the sun than shiver and scrape in the snow.

Oh ! That poor fella,,I bet his wife and dog were staying out of his way when he did get home.. My snow has about all melted but now we are having massive flooding in the low lands.. I-5 north towards Seattle has 10 feet of water over the highway ,towns are flooded and just down from me the creeks is rushing under the bridge and almost over it .. Lots of roads closed too..

We probably didn't get as cold as you though ,,around 10 degrees + was about it .. LD thx for the vidio enjoyed it

I would comment on how nice the weather is out here. But you know me, I would hate to rub it in.

How far south and west do you want to go ? Down here we're in the middle of summer, every day is a SPYDUH day and winter's a long way off.

Do you even get winter that close to the equator Curly? All I've seen is rain, rain, rain. We've been promised a sunny day today but the rain will be back tomorrow.

We're supposed to get 6-10 inches of snow by tomorrow night. Normally it would just kinda suck to deal with this weather. But this year I am trying to build a new home for my beloved Spider (a new garage) and with every winter storm comes more construction delays. It took nearly a month to get the foundation in because they cannot use cement if it is raining or below 32 degrees F. That's like 1 or 2 days a month in Ohio this time of the year!

I take no responsibility for the geographic accuracy of the map :? It seems as though the equator has slipped a bit further south than it used to be - that could account for global warming in our hemisphere
Where we live is actually about the same latitude south as your Washington DC is north, and we are inland about 50 miles. So yes, we do get winters and sometimes even snow, especially on the mountains nearby.

We in the Deep South have decided to not have winter this year. It is annoying and cuts into Fiat time.We went directly to spring, nice temps and lots of rain.Drove the car for 2 hours last week with the top down!! I dont think the car left the garage the whole month of Jan. last year.Global warming has arrived...here ,anyway.

Yep, I took mine out with the top down last week too. I was hoping to take a drive today but it was still a bit chilly. February usually brings nice weather and then comes the wind and rain for March. No sense in winterizing one when there's an opportunity every few weeks to take it out.

Mike,

Looks like the folks in Michigan are currently getting blasted by the same storm as us. Total white out here. No top down motoring for us anytime soon! I will say that my kids are about as excited as I have seen them lately, though. They love this stuff.
