As I am finishing up the rebuild of the front end, all has gone well. I was digging through some of my parts and I came across several of the factory type carb spacers that have come with the older carbs. I have some with dual holes and some with the single large opening. I was thinking of trying these to create a spacer of 1/2 inch or so. Any ideas on this?
Also, I will probably need to replace the studs in the intake to be long enough for the extra distance. Anyone know the thread diameter and pitch? Also a recomended total length?
Well back to the garage to tighten up the suspension and get ready for a test drive tomorrow.

The studs are 8mm x 1.25mm pitch.
I have a 1438cc intake with studs 35mm total length, about 25mm extending from the top of the manifold. The spacer is about 4 - 5 mm, so that leaves about 20mm to go through the carb base and for the washers and nuts for attachment.
I also have a 1.8L intake, with studs a little longer 42mm total length, about 30mm extending from the top of the manifold. The spacer is about 8 - 9 mm, again leaving about 20mm to mount the carb.

Nice to see someone who's close to me on the board. I've found ace hardware to have studs that will work if you need them. I always bring one with me to check as they sometimes get misplaced in the boxes by the staff or other shoppers.
