Ha good one Ron! You know that I've been through it! I guess the value of my car just went up by several nickels maybe even 4! Now if I could just see the clock... I was gonna replace that with a oil pressure gauge, wait prolly still am!

Clark, I'm not sure if you were here when I did the post about doing the clock face on my car. See it here: http://www.fiatspider.com/f08/viewtopic ... udy#p20947
Let me know if you want me to send you a new clear piece for yours, no charge. I have most of the lexan left over. It's not a hard job at all, you just have to take the crimped bezel off carefully.

That is a good idea w/ the lexan.I remember seeing a post where Mike B. did the same with a flashlight lens.I paid $7 to buy one pre made a while back from one of the vendors.Makes the dash look so much better.

I repaired both my son's and mine. The part that fails on the clock is a cheap nylon gear which either looses bite on the setting shaft or cracks completely. I was lucky enough to be able to repair the crack and reinforce the gear to prevent it from re-occuring. Both clocks work fine, the glass was also removed and replaced by making new round glass faces instead of plastic/acrylic. The Fiat clocks usually will keep good time and if not then they are in need of oiling/cleaning, which you can take to any jeweler or watch repair service and have them clean it or you can do it as I did by using butane fuel, this cleans off all the old sticking oil and leaves no residue as it will evaporate very quickly but enough time to do it's job, then use fine jewelers oil of the proper grade on the pivots, these can be bought on Ebay for little cost (one little bottle will do about 10,000 Fiat clocks).
