I think it's a good sign that I've been reading more favorable comments about Fiat coming back vs the bad comments. Most bad comments seem to be pointing toward Chrysler.

Ok
I have been following the Fiat Chrysler alliance religiously

-1st off, GM does not own any part of Fiat, in fact GM had to buy their way out of that which ended up consting them billions

-2: Fiat will own 35% of Chrysler and will have an option to assume control of 55% at a leter date

3: The Fiat 500 will be sold as a Fiat (not a rebadged Dodge), it will be built in Mexico where the soon to be discontinued PT Cruiser is currently built

4. The Alfa Mi.To. will be sold as an Alfa Romeo

5: The Fiat Grande Punto will be rebadged. They will also have access to its chasis

6: The upcomming Alfa 149 will be rebadged.

7: The Fiat Panda will be rebadged

6: Chrysler will have access to the Fiat 1.4 and 1.8 engines. Currently Chrysler's smalled engine is a 2.5

7: The 500, MiTo and rebadged alfas and fiat will all be sold through the Chrysler dealer networks. My guess is they will do it a la BMW/Mini setup.

8: Fiat will have access to the Chrysler V6 Phoenix engine

9: Chrysler will have access to the Fiat dealer networks around the world

10: There is talk that a few 500s and MiTo's will be sent from Europe to north America and will be sold at a loss (considering the terrible state of the greenback and the strength of the Euro) just to get people talking.

11. All Fiats, Alfas and rebadged cars that will be sold in north America will be built in North Americ.

This of cource is the plan. Chrysler still need to get approved for the government loan.
it is a good alliance considering it will save chrysler billions in product developement, Chrysler has NO small cars. It will give Fiat access to North America.

Rest assured, the CEO of Fiat S.p.a. is completely aware of the North American market. He is a Canadian Lawyer that was bassed out of Toronto. He completely transformed Fiat Auto and he is a no nonsence type of guy. You know he will be comming to North America oftern since his mother lives here!!!
under Marchionne build quality has drasticaly improved and so has product developement.

Im disapointed that they will rebadge some models but i guess it had to be done to save face with the US government. I mean they cant make it seem that they will just replace Chrysler. If all goes as planned the 1st Fiats, Alfas and Rebadged cars will be available as of 2012

Get your Fiats ready for the big parade!

Our cars have been slowly catching up in value over the last few years, and after this... wow.

Come 2012, unless the Mayans were right about the world ending on December 21st, our cars will get a huge boost in prestige as exposure to the Fiat brand increases from constant marketing by the Fiat Chrysler group!

Or the whole thing will flop, and we will just keep on wrenching in the shadows.. lol
