I had a '79 with a frozen engine once. I ended up taking an oak dowel rod through the plug holes and tapping on the top of the pistons to get it free. Test the rod to be sure it does not splinter and don't beat hell out of it.
I'm not actually suggesting you do this - just saying that it worked for me.

i may try that, I guess I can't damage it anymore than it already is.....right??? Especially if its still froze up.

if the motor is that rusted, the rings and cyl walls are trash. The only reason to get it turning at that point is for disassembly. Would you expect the rings to seal?

I think he started it once in a while for a few years, but I'm not real sure. It hadn't been tagged since1994.TulsaSpider wrote:I am wondering if you tried to free the engine at all? many times, (according to posts here), soaking the rings with auto transmission fluid for a few days or weeks can free up the rings. Mine sat for 13 years and I got in running in under a week. I have had issues along the way but with this forum and determination I have handled them all! Good luck!
Good luck!
