Well, as I was trying to clean up an old 32 ADFA carburetor, I managed to rip the diaphram in the assembly. It didn't seem to want to move and I pushed too hard.
I didn't see the part in Vick's catalog. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement?
Don't know if this warrants a new post but I also noticed the vacuum outlet which is on the front side is really clogged. This vents gases to the air cleaner. If I chem dipped the base would that clean it out?
Thanks,
Jim

Re: Speed Up Control Assembly
The speed up controll assembly A.K.A. Fast idle diaphram is available at Bayless Page 45 item number 31 $15.95 The diaphram is typically not included in rebuild kits.
The other port you describe sounds like the crankcase emissions port. It should be the lowest port on the front of the carb on the drivers side sticking out of the throttle plate. There is a small white plastic disc in there that acts as a valve. There is usually a lot of carbon build up and to properly clean the valve you need to remove the nut on the throttle shaft to get the disc out. This is best done with the carb off the car, as small parts are somehow magnetically drawn into the black hole that is the crossmember. You will need some carb/brake parts cleaner, a bunch of Q-tips, and some tooth picks to realy get all the built up gunk out.

Re: Speed Up Control Assembly
Matt,
You know your carbs!!! I took off the nut to get to the emmissions port. It was caked up beyond belief! It took me quite a bit of time to clean it out. I had to take a piece of wire and bend it to the accomodate the angle to get into the port tube. After I got all the gunk out, the port opened up!!
Thanks again!!
