Happy Valentines to all on the board also . LD Remember given cards out in Grade School ? I remember this one ugly girl who gave me a special card and I hid it from the rest of my friends so they wouldn't know she gave it to me ..

By time of high School she was one of the prettiest girls in school. I waited for a card from her but it never came.. LOL
Lesson learned : give em a few years and it will be worth it ,, LD

Happy Valentine's Day guys! Ron and I don't celebrate the day but it's a good time for the kids and I to do something together so we made Valentine cupcakes to give to neighbors and friends.
LD, your story reminds me of one of my own. While on the school playground in 3rd grade, a bunch of boys tackled me in the snow so one could give me a kiss. When I saw the boy had lost both his upper front teeth, I was horrified and my girlfriends promptly came to the rescue, killing any possible cudies by rolling me in the snow. The boy had a crush on me throughout the rest of the school year but those teeth never seemed to grow in. Jump to the fall when school started back and the bus stopped at the boy's bus stop. Lo and behold, he had grown his front teeth and was cute as can be....but he wouldn't even talk to me.

Shoot, I had a boyfriend in the second grade. It also ended in a bad way when he "borrowed" my bike. When the pedal came off of it during his flight, he fell and broke his arm. He didn't speak to me after that either.

My Valentine Story to share with the gals mainly ,,but if a some of you guys can apprectiate it ,,thats okay too..

Last year some time in I think November the wife and I took a drive on a sunny day and wound up in a antique store / garage sale items ect ect.. It's a place where about 30 different people take there wares and rent a little area and put their things on display and the overseeer of all these peoples wares takes in the Monery for what people buy and then gives it to the correct person from which an item is bought from ..

I looked at license plates and old kitchen gadgets that I collect while the wife looked at sewing stuff and all the things gals look at .. Anyway I seen this glass dish basket with a glass handle and remarked that it would sure get broken easy ..pretty but Heck I wasn't there too look at glass stuff and moved on to old carpenter hand tools and the such..

Then came Valentines day was upon me and I thought it would be nice to get her something ,,but what ? then I remembered the store from last November. So I takes off Friday the day before Valentines Day and drives the 40 miles to the store ..

I pull up and this lady in padded hunting garb to keep warm walks up to me in the parking lot and says that the store is pretty much closed due to having electrrical problems and it is dark inside except for some areas next to windows. to picture what this store looks like is to think of an old warehouse that is delapidated to where when trucks go by it the dishes on some of the shelves rattle... .Soooooooooooooo,, I said , that beings I drove all this way ,,if it's okay I would like to see if I could find a Valentines gift for the wife ,not even thinking of what ,,just hoping that I would run across something if I could get into the store.

So I went in and seen lots of stuff and did find me a kitchen gadget ,,and after the lady had given me a flash light to see better in the darker areas I was going to leave and was about to pay her for the gadget thing ,,and she says,,,I found somthing you might like for your wife while you were in the other corner of the store and if you like I will get it and bring it to the counter here for you to see.. I said,,why not ,,and would you believe this ..she brought that very glass basket that I had seen before in November and it was like a Omen of some kind .. and so here it is for you do all see ,,

It was just meant to be, LD. Are you going to tell us what your wife thought of it or is it in the garage holding screws?

Doh! Now you tell me! :? I spent yesterday putting my frt suspension togeather. Maybe that's why I had to eat Top Ramen for dinner? Actually, after we went for a walk and went to breakfast, we were sitting around and she said , "Go ahead and work on the car"! Maybe she just wanted to get rid of me? She made me a nice dinner, so I guess it wasn't a trick.

That's a lovely story GOPAPA. Thanks for sharing. I'd bet she'd love it even more if it was just a random day though, just a thought!
