Hello everyone!
Hello everyone!
Hello all! I'm glad I found this site! I am currently working on a 1980 carb. spider I recently acquired while looking for a car for my 16 year old daughter. (she got an Acura....Daddy got the Spider) I am currently converting to FI, so I'm sure I'll have need for advice/parts/counseling or something of that nature in the near future!

Re: Hello everyone!
Welcome aboard Mike. I have a 15 year old daughter who is in driver training now. She wanted the Spider, but I couldn't part with it. (I told her it was because it's not a good starter car.)
Definately let us see pictures of your new car.

Re: Hello everyone!
hey, Mike. welcome.
keeping that car carbureted might not be a bad idea... less work than the F.I. conversion, and more modifications available for performance upgrades than you can shake a stick at...

Thanks guys! I will try and get some pics on here soon! It's been 23 years between Spiders for me Ron. Bought my first in Hawaii in 86. It's always been the most favorite car I've ever owned.

Hey Mike,I dont know how far into the f.i. conversion you are,but you might want to send a pm to gopapa and lanciahf on this site. They both have f.i. parts cars with nearly complete systems, and are looking to sell the fi parts.Would be excellent source for sensors,harness,etc..

Re: Hello everyone!
Thanks Craig, I also have a FI parts car with a complete system. I lucked up on some new fuel injectors the other day for $5.24 each! (they listed the price wrong....they were supposed to be $52.40 each) I have already pulled all the manifolds & wiring out of both cars. My wiring harness has been butchered pretty bad, so I pulled everything from the 82 donor car. The FI exhaust manifold I have is cracked, but I found a guy to fix it for next to nothing. I should have it back sometime next week. I tried to post a pic on here, but no luck....must be too big or something. The only one I can find is of the car's interior space minus seats & dash.
