Good day all and hello.
I am a relatively new to fiat spiders and am in need of a wee bit of help.
But first as I am new to the forum a wee bit obout me and the car(s) I have a TR6 which i have had for 12 years. I now live in Split on the Croatian coast whereI drove the Triumph to. The triumph runs triple weber DCOE carbs of which I am very capable of working with.
A while ago another Scott who lives near me came to my door and offered me his 77 Spider. The car was a Calafornia import to Britain in 91 and then like my Triumph was driven out here by its owner.
The engine was quiet but ran lumpy and smokey. I had a look at the carb which was a weber twin choke 34 DMS. This is aparently an earlier carb but a good one. But according to a local carb guy the carb was buggered beond repair.
Now due to the lack of old fords over here there is a severe lack of second hand webers. So I eventually managed to locate a good recon carb from a fellow spider owner in Dubrovnik. He sent me the carb, which is meant to be the one for the car and year. So what turned up was a 32 ADFA. Now this is an American carb I know by the "A" on the end. But the big problem I have is that the old carb was a manual choke with few hose outlets. Fuel in/return and vacum for the air filter. The new carb has a multitude of hoses that I have no idea what for or what to do with. The fuel in/return and automatic choke pipes are obvious. But the rest are a loss to me. Further more I cant find any info on them on the net.
So can anyone help me with this. The carb is on and running but if I can make it run better by blanking of or redirecting all the hoses then i would be very happy.

My 82 is FI, so I'm not much help otherwise. Other members will be though.

hi guys. Well you are all a fantastic help and the second the car comes out the garage after the timing belt jumping a tooth I will check everthing out. I have had the tr6 for 12 years and the spider for 6 months and its had to have more attention, lol. I put it down to poor maintenance from the previous owner(s). I trust its not just italian cars ha ha. The first thing I done to the car whan I got it was to remove the 150kg of American bumpers that just killed the asthetics (lol wheres the spell check when you need it) i also lowered the suspension as it rose half a meter once the bumpers came of

ok here is on and here is the other and why not for all the die hard italian car owners, here is my other one. .
Croatia is great for driving. I have ben here for over 10 years now and have both cars registered with the Croatian auto assosiation. I am in the Split old timers club and we often do rallys. These are sometimes local and each year we also organise an international rally. Thefiats not been on one yet though as it nneds some attention. It also seems sensitive to overheating. I have even taken out the thermostat to help.
There is a Spider club of Croatia by the way. Its ran buy a great old guy who has been helpfull and is a very god friend. He has an unnatural obsesion with fiat spiders. He has about 7 of them and a fantastic Arbath replica that he has built over the years. He also has a dino spider that he is about to restore.
Well any of you guys want to come here with your cars for a run just let me know. There are pleanty old timers clubs in Croatia aand many Italian cars as you could imagine.
