Another Carb question-- Weber

Post by psg »

Still putting together my '78 Spider. I thought I had taken pictures from every angle but to my chagrin I am without some vital info. I have left over a very small diameter hose with a T fitting that I do not see any possible connection. I also, and this is embarrassing, cannot figure out where the inlet pipe is on the carb bowel. I have a hose and filter coming off the pump (the old hose has a metal union on the end hose coming off the filter) but I do not see the inlet or a hose to connect to. Are there photos of the connections to be found on line or some solid descriptions for these to issues. thanks. psg :?

it sounds like the inlet fitting came out of the carb and is stuck in the hose. It goes into the front of the carb, pointing down at about a 45 degree angle towards the left fender. Take it out of the hose and insert it into the carb, then use a brass hammer to seat it. Don't hit it too hard or you will deform the end making it hard to get the hose on
