Hello friends,
A set of twin 40 IDFs are installed on my 1608cc engine. However the turtleback is missing and so I can do nothing with the hose coming from the oil-vapour separator. Any of you tried some ideas on that?
Any suggestions wellcome.
George.

It's probably a good idea to put something on the end of the crankcase vent.
One popular solution is to use a longer hose than stock from the cyclonic trap to a point somewhere low in the engine bay, then attach a filter such as this http://www.knfilters.com/search/product ... od=62-1570 The frequency which this needs cleaning is dependent on the condition of your engine, but it must be kept open.

My engine is freshly rebuilt so I don't have to worry about blow by, but this is what I did with mine:

1971 124 Spider (Juan)
1986 Bertone X19 (Blue)
1978 124 Spider Lemons racer
1974 X19 SCCA racer (Paul)
2012 500 Prima Edizione #19 (Mini Rossa)
Ever changing count of parts cars....It's a disease!

Denise, your car has been in the darkness so long it has mushrooms growing under the hood

You're right Mark, but Spring has sprung and it's time to get it out in the light.

Re: Twin 40 IDFs, but wha about that hose
Thanks guys,
I will probably try something like an air cleaner at the end of the hose.
It does not necessarily have to be close to the carburetors in order to "recirculate" the vapour, does it?
I mean, otherwise, there will be this annoying smell under the bonnet.
(or is it my engine that creates so much vapour from that hose? )

well i've got a cleaner on that hose and i put it close to the airfilters because i was getting a lot of smell inside the car ,and i plugged the firewall with champagnecorks to reduce the smell of exhaust
