welcome to the site. Tell us more about the car. Every Fiat has a story
Re: new member from cincinnati ohio
O.K., you asked for it! Here's the story of my '81 Spider..... I was told by Dave Yoka form MBS Specialy Cars (in Kansas City) that he bought the car from the original owner, restored it and sold it to his best buddies' mother-in-law Rita, from Oklahoma City. She owned it for 4 1/2 years, then retired. She told me she was "ready to fly and see the world, not have to drive it." She sold it to me last summer with 75k original miles. Since then I've installed a new battery and alternator, plugs and wires, assorted hoses, oh, forgot - new timing belt just before I bought it. Getting ready to have a valve adjustment. Anyone have ideas how much I can expect it to set me back? Know of any good mechanics in the area?

Hello, and welcome.
How far is Cincinatti from Hilliard? That's where Jon Logan of Midwest124 is located. You're lucky to be in his neighborhood.
Your pictures didn't post, so I'm waiting to see your new jewel.

Sorry, I'm having technical difficulties downloading my pics, looks like I need a tutor as well as a mechanic!

Jon Logan is your best bet for service. He is close to Colombus.

Nice looking car!guichy69 wrote: I'm also looking to buy a shop manual, any recommendations?

Tough to beat the factory manual, reprinted and sold by several vendors, including IAP: http://www.international-auto.com/index ... p&pid=2755 Part number 04251.
You'll also see the Haynes manual and others on eBay, etc. which are not as complete, but suffice for most repair jobs. There are some discrepencies between non-factory manuals regarding fastener torque specs, for example, so use caution.
