Help... I broke a piece that has two vacume tubes, one tube goes from the intake manifold to this vacume switch and the other goes from the switch to the carb. I'll try to get a pic next week.
I think the piece is an idle control, can someone confirm and where do I find one? Once the carb is back on the intake, this piece is barried underneath everything.
Thanks,
Adam

Re: '74 DSMA Carb Problem
Are you talking about the small cast pot metal fitting with two small diameter vertical tubes, that is located on the top of the intake manifold between the carb and the cam tower? That is the EGR thermovalve. I have one, but a picture will help positively identify the part in question.

Spoke with the mechanic doing the work, apparently it's the fast idle switch?

Adam,
Here is a picture of the EGR thermovalve that is mounted to the intake manifold: http://www.flickr.com/photos/bigtimes_fiat/3429929749/
The fast idle electrovalve is a cream colored plastic thing mounted near the firewall or on the driver's side fender. It has a hose going in and a hose comming out, and two electrical connections. There is also a black buttion that tests the system that should be mounted near the electrovalve.
