74 Fiat Spider
Doesn't look like the vendors sell these separate (or?)....any over the counter or other creative solutions? Swapped senders but the filter on the spare was shot and the old one not much better....working for now but have visions of it coming apart and getting sucked in!

I'm sure if you go to the auto parts store and stand in front of all the fuel filters in the clear bubble packs, you might find something that will fit snuggly on the end of the pickup tube. You may have to buy a clear plastic filter, cut it open, and use the element. Just make sure its not too restrictive.
I have some very fine stainless mesh/screen with opening sizes about the same as the original screen sock. I could send you a square of it. You would have to form it into a sock.

I'll look around and see what I can find in the readily available aisles. Gotta be something i can make work. For now....I think the old one will last a while. May just go ahead and put another filter just aft of the sending unit before the mechanical fuel pump.
