Great Final Drive!

Post by msova »

Well...after a couple years of struggling with needing to sell the fiat for financial reasons and wanting to keep her, I sold it yesterday. With the damaged rear end, I got my meager asking price of $2500. Someone got a real nice deal! Hopefully he will visit here as per my suggestions.

We took the long route via old hwy 94 to historic St. Charles. En route we stopped and had a brief but very nice visit with Karen Dickson. Hadn't seen her or Kris since Ken's passing so it was a warranted visit. Got to see all the projects Kris is working on and keeping up with. Them race go karts are something else!!!!

The drive was great....the sun ended up being rather scarce, but with the top down and the great fiat heat cranking (sometimes on hi, sometimes off!) it was a wonderful drive. The car ran and handled great.

All in all its been a great past 6 years or so. I plan on sticking around the fiat online communities...maybe take part in some all-to-scarce local events/drives. Hope to one day own another (or several!) when our finances are better....sad thing about this sale....it was the only car we have that was PAID FOR....and I might add....that I would dare work on (other cars are newer toyotas...wouldn't dare work on them to the extent I could a fiat). But, I was "allowed' to use some of the money to buy a new bass guitar since I'm getting back into palying a bit (had to sell off my beloved vintage rickenbacker 4001 some motnhs ago).

Anyhow...thanks for all here who have a helped me (here and at mira mostly) with learning about fiats!

Marc, your news is bittersweet to say the least. It's hard to make tough decisions like that but hopefully you'll be back in a Fiat soon! I'm glad you're planning to stick around. Just cuz you sold her doesn't mean you gotta ditch us!
