heater core eaten by fan blade!

Post by TulsaSpider »

Well I was out late Sat. night /Sun. morning and it was cool so I turned on the heater and the fan, then I heard the fan hitting something, thought that was strange, then turned it off. A but later I smelled the sickly sweet smell of antifreeze. I took a flashlight today and say that there was antifreeze on the fan... so I guess the core dropped down or something and contacted the fan. I am going to bypass for now. I'll pull it out later and inspect. I do have the new parts car, maybe that heater core is in good shape? Well at least it happened in Spring! Always something!

I'd say you're lucky Clark. Enough things happen that need your time, and you won't have any time left to get into trouble!
Lucky you.
