radiator cap picture wanted

Post by Tappy »

like the titel says , can someone post a picture of his /her radiator cap(inside). I find it odd that when the car heats up the pressure builds up (even when its cold) untill 190° After that its starts letting pressure of trough the radiator cap , doesnt it suppose to flow in the expansion tank ?

i think i'm missing a joint or gasket or something there. i'll check the overfow bottle later when it has cooled down to see if something is blocking the hose there also

thx in advance

thats a quick response i like it. I've ordered another cap some time ago but this was for a long radiator neck and i have a short one , so i started using the old one again. I need to see if the hose to the overflow bottle is free but i'm still wondering if there is some kind of joint or gasket involved

Yes, there is a gasket there plus an additional liped gasket ( no camera here at the moment )

Select Fiat then select 100 series

Parts 508-13 or 543-13

buyer of radiator cap wanted

Post by Tappy »

Well i'm still searching for the right radiator cap. It seems like i need a shallow one , for a short filler neck radiotor

Problem seems to be that with the local vendors they sell the short and long ones but the short ones are different pressure (half)then the longer Probably is the radiator i have one from an earlyer model 124 maybe a 1400or 1600 and they didnd build up the same pressure as the 2000 engines ? I've been told i need 11 psi theshort filler are obout half

So here's the question who is prepared to do me some shopping there in the states ? I need the radiator cap and some diafragms for the idf's also i need 2 of those (partnumber 47407.027 ) early style accelerator pump operated webers

Its would be great to have someone that has paypal and is willing to schip to Belgium (as most vendors wont :()

Who wants to spend my money ? pls pm me

Does your radiator have the filler off to the side like this one:

Or is it straight into the top tank? Could you post some pictures showing more detail of the filler?

Tappy, your picture does not come up on my computer. Please check the link.

I will try to get time to check into availability of items over here. The radiator cap should be easy, unless you have something quite unusual. The diaphragms shouldn't be that hard to find, either. You have 30/15's, right? Simple pump cover with a roller cam operated lever with no adjustability, right? I'd likely check with Pierce Manifolds for that item. We should take this off line and correspond directly -- so you don't have 5 different people separately getting these parts for you, . . . unless someone else is willing to jump in here with the parts from their personal supply, and call it done??

e-mail me, please.

The link works for me now. I don't know why it didn't earlier. I also received your e-mail, and will get back to you.
