I am new so I didn't know there was private messaging. I finally found out where it was. When I pull up a PM it says 1of 20 stored, but there are no newer or older messages. Where are the other 19 messages? Help

LOL, I guess you are not HAL 9000 then. 1 of 20 means you only have 1 message. The 20 means that you are only allowed 20 messages before you must start deleting some previous messages to free up some space.
So, if you delete the one message you have, it will go back to 0 of 20 messages.

I now understand the numbering. The message I have is not from the person who suggested I check my PM so I am still confused

i am continually confused with the P.M. system at this forum. it is cumbersome, and the verbage is misleading. why do i see one or two messages in the outbox for days? did they go, or are they still hanging somewhere? when i say send, shouldn't they eventually get to the sent box automatically...like within minutes of me saying SUBMIT?
of course, P.M.'s are tied to technology. i am a firm believer in carburetors because they have no computers attached to them. i have been attempting to learn an iPod for two weeks, and have all but given up on anything but the extreme basics. my daughter reprograms my cell phone too.

As long as the one you send a pm to does'nt log on , your message will remain in your outbox
the space for each user is limited to keep data volume whitin control , you can download mails to your computer and there viewabale trough explorer (html) or exel (or anything that can open cvs files ) So you can clear up personal space on the forum

and not only that, if it is in the outbox, you can go in and edit the content at anytime until the receiver logs on and checks his PM's/
