aux shaft removal
aux shaft removal
the aux shaft does not simply pull out the front of the block when the seal cover is removed, does it? if not what else is involved? I'm wondering if i should grind the lobe when I do the seal.

Re: aux shaft removal
There's a retainer under the front cover/seal that has 2 bolts.

Ok so then it's going to pull straight out? any caveats to grinding the lobe? balance? do I just grind it down on a bench grinder?

Re: aux shaft removal
I used a 4 1/2 "grinder and cut the lobe off and squared the end. Then one has to drill out the oil passage about 3/8" deep or so to accept the plug from the lobe you just cut off, Get the right size, don't want that sucker loose and comming out .I saw a thread where one tapped the hole and screwed a plug in, perhaps a better idea.
