Thinking of using a electrical fuelpump https://www.woodys-auto-supply.com/perf ... =C44-P4594 on my spider since I have some trouble with fuel pressure right now.
Does anyone here use an electrical fuelpump to feed the carb?
If so, what type are you using?

On my 76 carb, I use one from NAPA:

I guess that the one installed today is similar to yours but it cant pump up the last 6-7 galon in my tank, I have been stranded along the road a few time thanks to that.
Mine is installed in the trunk just to the right side if the tank, where is your located?

bernie speaks the truth. carburetors don't like high pressure. be sure to get a low pressure pump when you go over-the-counter for an electric fuel pump.
gotta be something wrong with that pump if you can't get the bottom half of the contents out...or something wrong with the fuel sending unit (more likely). that is too much gas to be leavin' behind. i bet the pickup is not swinging all the way to the bottom.

I got the information that Weber carbs needs 0.3 bar pressure (4.35 psi) to work properly and the pump gives 6 psi so I should be able to control the pressure with a regulator (I hope it works ).

I have taken the fuel sending unit out of the tank and there is about 2 inch of gas in there, the fuel sending pipe is intact so there must be the pump not working properly.
When filling the tank (4 inch) the pump start working again so it seems that the pump is not pulling enough .
It feels so great to have someone to talk to regarding these matters I was almost going crazy there for a while before discovering this problem, thanks to you all .

Also check your fuel lines. There might be air coming in that will lower your pressure.

There will be a new fuel pump and tank sending unit, I hope that will do the trick.

we've seen pickup tubes with rust holes in them, so fuel will have to cover the hole before the pump will pull gas properly

I did check the pickup tube but could not find anything but I will replace it anyway just to be on the safe side.

Some tuners here say 3.0 psi is the max, others like this one say 3.5 psi max
